The job
We are hiring a senior leader to own the house edge across all tables. The edge is currently 2.7%. Your mandate is not to change it — the math is settled — but to be personally accountable for it: to represent it in meetings, defend it in writing, and answer for it when a host loses eleven hands in a row and files a support ticket addressed to "whoever is in charge of luck."
What you'll do
- Own the house edge as a KPI you cannot influence
- Join incident calls when probability behaves exactly as documented
- Prepare quarterly board updates on the number 2.7
- Reassure hosts that variance is temporary, in writing, with citations
- Escalate to mathematics as needed
What we're looking for
- 8+ years of accountability for outcomes you did not cause
- Comfortable being cc'd on every losing streak in the EMEA region
- Can say "expected value" in a soothing tone
- Working familiarity with numbers between 0 and 1
- References from at least two people you have disappointed statistically
Why we're doing this
The math works. Someone still has to answer for it.
